About Los Angeles
Los Angeles-often abbreviated to L.A.-is the largest city in the state of California by population, and the second most populous city in the United States[1] It is an alpha world city having an estimated population of over 3.8 million people[2]and spanning 469.1 square miles (1214.9 square kilometers). The Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana metropolitan area is home to 13 million people.[3] The Greater Los Angeles Area encompasses a much larger area, consisting of five counties and an estimated 18 million people.

Los Angeles Staples Center
Staples Center opened on October 17, 1999, and immediately won recognition, becoming a two-time winner of the Pollstar-CIC Arena of the Year award. It has gained fame as the home of the
Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA, the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA, the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL, and the Los Angeles Avengers of the AFL. It is the only arena that is home to five professional sports franchises.
